Diversity!
America is a very diverse continent! People from all over the world come to live with better opportunities and freedoms. Some ways you can see this is through all the different types of restaurants and shops. Every street is full of different types of cultural foods. Some of the most popular types of food are Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, and Italian. All of our schools and work areas are full of people from many different races. Our country promotes diversity in a few different ways. One way is that we are protected by religious freedom and civil rights. We don't discriminate against certain races in work spaces or schools.

Favorite places in the U.S.
I have a few favorite places in America. Some of my most favorite places are just simply the different states that have family living in. But a big one that everyone knows is Disney World. It his a HUGE amusement park in Florida that is enjoyed by family's all year long. The have hundreds of rides and many other things to do like go see shows. I have been here twice. Once when i was a little younger so i don't remember it as well and another just a few years ago. Both times we went as a family. I hope to go back again.
A more historical place that is just as amazing is the Grand Canyon. I have only been there once but would love to go again. It is gigantic canyon that was once formed by a river. Its a lot of fun to go through, but you have to be prepared for a very long walk! Some people ride donkeys through it. I always thought that looked kind of fun. The Views of the canyon are amazing from the trail and create an experience everyone should see in their life. I have many other places in the United States that I love these are just two of them that really stick out in my mind.

Terrorist attacks
In america we do have Terrorist attacks. The most popular one took place on September 11, 2001. A plain was taken over and crashed right into the world trade center. There could be many motives of the terrorists. One is that they are trying to scare us. The countries that we are enemies with are far away from us. They might be trying to prove that even though physically we are not very close together they can still come over here.
Ever since 9-11 our country has began to make ways to try and pervent more terrorist attacks. The biggest thing effected was our air ports because last time this is how the terrorist got to out country. Now the airport security is much more advanced. Some examples of this is no one can walk to a gate unless they have a ticket. You can only fly with a limited amount of liquids in your carry on. Now when you go throught the security you have to take off your shoes. Now search more people randomly. Hopefully with the security a bigger deal we will not have more problems with terrorists.

People/events/clubs
There are a lot of clubs at our school!! Some of the bigger ones are the key club and the ping pong club. They also have a breakdancing club. The people in our school are all very different. Im not in any clubs, but a lot of my friends are in the key club and some of them just joinded the ping pong club of (PPC). The biggest event that just happend at our school is homecoming.
It was saterday night from 8 o'clock to midnight. They held it in the ballroom at a hotel called the Hyatt in down town Austin. It was alot of fun! Most people ate dinner before at a pre-party and then lefts as a group to go to the dance. After my head was ringing from the four hours of very loud music!

illegal immigrants
I don't know too much about illegal immigrant, but most of them are coming from Mexico and places around there. They come into the United States looking for a better life. They might be looking for better jobs, more freedom, of just a new life. Many people come into the United States and start working before they are officially a citizen of our country. They want people who come into the country to become citizens and if they are not the government tells them they need to become one. But there are still many people that live here and are not citizens.
I think that people should be able to come live in the United States but should still have to become citizens. I think we should make it easier for them to become citizens. Maybe if the process was not as hard it would be more likely that people went threw it. I also think that when people move here they should learn at least a little English so that they can better communicate with others who are living here.

Summer!
This summer I went to a workcamp in Jackson Mississippi. Its called Catholic Heart Work Camp. When you there you break up into groups and go to different work sites. My group went to an older ladies home, it was really run down. We painted the whole outside of her house and did some wood work on her car port. I also went on a family trip to Block Island, Rhode Island! We go every summer with my dads whole side of the family. We rent a huge house with like nine rooms! While were there we go to the beach, go horse back riding, and just hang out with family that we dont usually get to see.
My aunts house is in galviston on Tiki Island! Her house is right on the water so we spend most of are time swimming. She has two jetskis wich I can now drive because I got my boating license and the end of last summer! I brought friends up this summer and we stayed there for a weekend. We almost all have are license so we can all take out the jetskis! Earlier in the summer i had summer swim team. I swim for the Westover Wild Orcas! Most of my friends swim on that team of another team in the area so we have alot of fun! Other than that I just hung out with friends for the rest of the summer!
